Game: Doll or Bear? Latvian Children's Items Around the World (Lelle vai lācis? Latviešu bērnu lietas pasaulē) (2025)
The game Doll or Bear? Latvian Children's Items Around the World, which is based on the popular Top Trumps card game, enables you to learn about the lives of Latvian children in various parts of the world and at different historical periods. The game includes 38 cards depicting everyday items from the lives of Latvian children living outside Latvia. The game set is complemented by a digital content with extra information about the items shown on the cards.
The Latvian Language Agency initiated the creation of the game to help children learn the Latvian language and culture through play. The game was developed by the Latvians Abroad Museum and Research Centre, which collects and preserves stories about the lives of Latvians around the world. The game features objects from the museum's collection, as well as Latvian families living outside Latvia.
