Latvian: Through the Eyes of a Child
A description of the English version follows.
""Through the Eyes of a Child" is based on the experiences of two Latvian children who were part of a mass deportation to Siberia in 1949. As a child, Benita Eglīte (née Plezers) recorded these events in drawings. The pictures were hidden during the occupation and brought to light after Latvia regained independence in 1991. These illustrations are published along with Benita's adult descriptions of what is happening in each scene. Each drawing is also accompanied by a reflection written in adulthood by Anda Līce. Deported as a child, Anda later became a writer and poet."
