The Prime Minister of Ukraine recommends a visit to the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia

04.04.2024.

On April 4, as part of his official visit, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal visited the Museum with his delegation and the Ukrainian Ambassador to Latvia. The Prime Minister met the Museum Director Solvita Vība and was shown the exposition by the Museum guide Victoria Piven – a Ukrainian historian.

After visiting the Museum, in a broadcast on Latvian National Television (LTV1), Denys Shmyhal said: "We and you have the same situation, the same history. We now have the same situation in Ukraine. They continue terrorism, continue genocide against Ukrainians. They continue to deport people. They continue to kidnap children in Ukraine. If you really want to understand what is happening in Ukraine, go to your Occupation Museum and you will be able to understand what is happening in Ukraine now."
