On September 18, an exhibition of photographs ENDLESS HOPE by the artist from Kyiv, Natalya Nesterkina, was opened in the foyer of the Riga City Council building. It will stay open until 4 October 2014.
The exhibition is a tribute to the families of soldiers from the 30th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), whose family members went to the front and disappeared in battles with the Wagnerians.
The artist Natalya has received a special AFU accreditation for her photographs since 2022, and with her exhibited images makes the audience delve into real sadness, suffering and hopeful longing as felt by the mothers, sisters, wives and children, lacking knowledge of the fates of their beloved men and lads.
The event started with Latvian and Ukrainian anthems, followed by speeches and thanks to Ukrainian patriots and supporters of the exhibition. It was mingled with tender songs and wishes for the imminent victory of Truth over darkness.
At the conclusion, a new Christmas Advent donation campaign was announced for wounded Ukrainian soldiers in Lviv, where about 650 wounded Ukrainian defenders are in a hospital and surrounding rehabilitation centres.
The purpose of the money is to finance Christmas gifts and a Gingerbread Campaign from Latvia around December 15 – to provide an opportunity for the soldiers in rehabilitation to experience the joy of baking gingerbread Christmas sweets.
The campaign is organized by the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia in cooperation with the publicist Arnis Šablovskis and the Lviv Photomuseum.
You are encouraged to support the effort to create a special Christmas celebration for the wounded Ukrainian soldiers in Lviv!
