In Vilnius on Friday, August 23 – the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism – our museum’s staff member Pēteris Kalniņš took part in the Memorial Peloton tour from the Lithuanian Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights to the Tuskulenai Memorial. This was part of a series of memorial tours including our Museum’s Memorial Walk (8/21), the Bialystok Sybir Memorial Museum’s Memorial Peloton (8/25), and a similar tour organized by the Museum of Victims of Deportations and Political Repressions in Chisinau, Moldova (9/9).
Our representative also attended the unveiling of the traveling exhibition “From the Soviet Red Flag to the Lithuanian Tricolour” at the Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights, and the open-air exhibit “Youth Rebellion”, which can be seen at the Tuskulenai Memorial.
