Barricades for Freedom – 34
January 20 – the Day of Remembrance of the Barricade Defenders – was commemorated at Riga Dome Square. The speakers were representatives of the Government and the city of Riga as well as participants of the historical events.
A barricade bonfire was solemnly lit and the exhibition "Posters of the 1991 Barricades" was presented by the 1991 Barricade Museum (1991. gada barikāžu muzejs).
The Museum of the Occupation of Latvia invites everyone to remember, commemorate and remind others of the time when the defenders of independent Latvia united to protect their country and its ideals.
