The exhibition in the KGB Building is looking for guides

30.10.2019.

The Museum has announced the opportunity to apply to be a guide at the KGB Building (Corner House), in the Museum’s “Exhibition - History of KGB Operations in Latvia”, located at 61 Brīvības iela in Riga.

The Museum of the Occupation of Latvia wants to recruit people to work as guides, who enjoy talking to people, that know at least 3 languages (2 well) and who know about the political history of 20th century Latvia. All specific knowledge will be acquired through the museum’s training.

A guide’s main task is to lead 1.5-hour long tours for groups of up to 20 people.

In April the candidate guides will be offered training twice a week, in the evening on working days. At the end their knowledge and language skills will be assessed. Selected guide candidates will receive a job offer at the “Exhibition - History of KGB Operations in Latvia”. The others will receive a specialist course certificate.

Guides can work full or half days on a changing schedule. The contract will be for the scheduled period of the exhibition, from mid-May 2019 until at least the end of 2020. Wages are calculated per hour worked, not less than 3.50 EUR per hour neto.

Please send your application to info.kgb@omf.lv by 3 March. For more information contact Līga Strazda by phone – 67229244.
