The Museum of the Occupation of Latvia is creating a new video series called "Five Stories About..." It has been designed to uncover various events in the history of 20th century Latvia. The use of eye witness stories and memories reveals people's feelings and experiences, making the history more personal. Each of the stories cover five different historical events using interviews held in the audiovisual department of the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia.
The first theme in the video series is “Help”. This topic will be explored in five stories - refugees escaping during the Second World War, the Mass Deportations, the Holocaust, the National Partisans War and the Barricades. The first video includes stories of how people risked their lives to help refugees, who were complete strangers, during the Second World War.

The video series has been supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia.
