Vytautas Landsbergis sent a letter to Riga’s Mayor Nils Usakovs

Dear Mayor Ušakovs,

Being acknowledged about the situation of the Museum of Occupation of Latvia, I am very much concerned about the evident efforts to jeopardize its functioning.

Maybe, it was a mistake to relocate the Museum into a limited space and unattractive “temporary” premises before the final permit for a new Building was issued. It is for an opinion of the Latvian Government, if the group of Latvian architects blocking with their last-minute protest that so needed issue is indeed Latvian, or what are the purposes of Riga City bureaucracy stating on detrimental delay just in advance of the 100th anniversary of the Latvian state in 2018.

My opinion is, if the obstacles are not removed immediately, or even in any case, the expositions of the Museum could be relocated back,  where they had their proper, undisputed premises.
